چکیده

The tea green leafhopper, Empoasca flavescens, is a major pest of Camellia sinensis (L.) Kuntze. Until recently, it has mainly been controlled by pesticides, but their use led to high levels toxic residues in plants, which threaten both the environment and human health. Therefore, safer biological control approach needed. Tea plants produce many volatile compounds, different clones differ resistance pest. We explored possibility that compounds influence tea. Here, we assessed 15 pest, produced clones, effects on E. flavescens behavior. Six were classified as resistant, eight moderately susceptible, one susceptible. Fresh leaf samples from resistant susceptible analyzed using HS–SPME–GC–MS. Sesquiterpenes monoterpenes two groups characterized, representing 30.15% 26.98% total respectively. From our analysis, conclude 3-hexen-1-ol, 2,6-dimethyleneoct-7-en-3-one, humulene, β-bourbonene, styrene, benzaldehyde important for susceptibility clones. In bioassay, attracted β-ocimene methyl salicylate, avoided linalool compounds.

Diverse Colletotrichum species cause anthracnose of tea plants (Camellia sinensis (L.) O. Kuntze) in China

Anthracnose caused by Colletotrichum is one of the most severe diseases that can afflict Camellia sinensis. However, research on the diversity and geographical distribution of Colletotrichum in China remain limited. In this study, 106 Colletotrichum isolates were collected from diseased leaves of Ca. sinensis cultivated in the 15 main tea production provinces in China. Multi-locus phylogenetic ...

Subcellular Localization of Galloylated Catechins in Tea Plants [Camellia sinensis (L.) O. Kuntze] Assessed via Immunohistochemistry

Galloylated catechins, as the main secondary metabolites in the tea plant, including (-)-epigallocatechin-3-gallate and (-)-epicatechin-3-gallate, comprise approximately three-quarters of all the tea plant catechins and have stronger effects than non-galloylated catechins, both on the product quality in tea processing and the pharmacological efficacy to human beings. The subcellular localizatio...

New Sample Preparation Method for Quantification of Phenolic Compounds of Tea (Camellia sinensis L. Kuntze): A Polyphenol Rich Plant

Chemical analysis of the Sri Lankan tea (Camellia sinensis, L.) germplasm would immensely contribute to the success of the tea breeding programme. However, the polyphenols, particularly catechins (flavan-3-ols), are readily prone to oxidation in the conventional method of sample preparation. Therefore, optimization of the present sample preparation methodology for the profiling of metabolites i...

Investigation of Consecutive Separating Arrangements of Bio active Compounds from Black Tea (Camellia sinensis) Residue

Every year lots of black tea (Camellia sinensis (L.) Kuntze) residue will produce in the factories. These residue are unusable whereas the bio active compounds can be extracted and used in the drag and food industries. Due to mentioned problems, this project was conducted years 2011 - 2012 with the aim to make a study on consecutive isolation of all bio active compounds from tea residu...

detection of volatile compounds of medicinal plants with some nano-sorbents using modified or new methodologies and investigation of antioxidant activity of their methanolic extracts

in this work, a novel and fast method for direct analysis of volatile compounds (davc) of medicinal plants has been developed by holding a filament from different parts of a plant in the gc injection port. the extraction and analysis of volatile components of a small amount of plant were carried out in one-step without any sample preparation. after optimization of temperature, extraction time a...
